A national costume from the area around Karlovac

The most similar to the old Pannonian shirt is the dress shirt from Draganić - cut in the waist and gathered in many tiny dense folds following the Renaissance fashion. It is also decorated by tiny renaissance embroidery patterns locally called naniričano.

The front of the apron is decorated with rich red in-woven stiches. Young women wore red costumes as festive clothing which according to the folk believes brought health, joy and happiness in marriage. At the same time it warded off spells and other undesired forces.
