Climbers and hikers

You might remember that the title ‘first Croatian female mountain-climber’ belongs to the writer Dragojla Jarnević, who was also one of the pioneers in alpinism among women! Her pioneering climbing on Okić in the Samobor highlands was in 1843. One of the explorers from Karlovac - Mirko Seljan - managed to walk the distance from Saint Petersburg to Paris before his trip to Africa, which is 2 175 km in total. He walked for about a hundred days and thus won the title Champion of Globetrotter.
