Imbro Tkalac on the Domestic culture of living
The Croatian politician and publicist Imbro Tkalac was born in Karlovac in 1824. He took an active part in academic, political and economic life, advocated the unity of the Croatian peoples and strove against Austrian domination, for which he was exiled from the Habsburg Monarchy and died in exile in Rome in 1912. It is in Rome that he wrote his Memoires of Boyhood from Croatia, published in 1894.
