Fragments from antiquity
Our museum testaments to the period of antiquity are still small findings or fragments, as is the case with earlier periods. Nevertheless, they evoke a new measure of space and time. For instance, one of the showcases displays fragments of bronze statues which originated in the 4th century – representations of Roman gods in natural size.
These objects were most probably imported from areas of modern Italy, and they ended up at the bottom of the river Kupa following a shipwreck at nearby Kobilići of Pokupsko.
