Wolverine ‘’Glutton’’ or Gulo-Gulo
Here we have another mammal of the carnivore order. Although it is incomparably smaller than the mammoth and the cave bear, it deserves the title of winner. This species has actually survived to the modern day, although unfortunately not in our area. It can be found in the remote north of Eurasia and North America.
With some small but significant changes, its evolution began in the Pleistocene, that is some 2.5 million years ago. Therefore, the wolverine is a living proof that extremes in evolution are not always the best solution.
