The Cave Bear - Ursus Spelaeus

The Cave bear belongs to the class mammalia, the order carnivora. Today, it has several relatives, in our area is the brown bear or Ursus arctos. This species is somewhat older than the mammoth and it became extinct earlier. Thus its evolutionary time span started and finished in the Pleistocene, approximately from 250 000 to 27 000 BC.
