Woolly Mammoth - Mammuthus Primigenius

The woolly mammoth was of the class Mammalia, the order Proboscidea; as does the modern elephant. The Proboscidea lived and evolved during the last two geological periods, the Pleistocene epoch and the Holocene, which more or less corresponds to a time span from 150 000 to 4 000 years BC. They disappeared from our region more than 10 000 years ago.
