An imprint of life in a stone

The living world from the Miocene Epoch, approximately 20 million years ago, has left us its fossil traces, some of which you can see in the showcase in front of you. On the upper shelves you may recognise sea animal species which once lived in the Neogene Pannonian Sea; the topographical map of the Karlovac region offers an insight into their distribution and habitat.
