Where are we?
We are in the Karlovac City Museum, which was established in 1904 to preserve the antiquities and the memories of the city. The museum is situated in the oldest building of Karlovac, on today's Strossmayer Square, in the mansion whose construction was commissioned in 1630 by General Vuk II Krsto Frankopan of Karlovac. A memorial plaque was erected in 1641 to commemorate the wedding of the General's daughter Katarina Frankopan and Petar Zrinski, a future Croatian Ban (Viceroy).
